lyrics

Zero, one, ten, eleven!

Some said earth would end in fire, others said in ice,
or nuclear war, or zombies -- with ev’rybody dyin’ twice.
Well, those were all good guesses, and I’d like ‘em all just fine,
but now we’ve got these robot overlords, and this is where I draw the line!

I said, I don’t want the robots walkin’ up and down my street,
shooting lasers and clangin’ their metallic feet.
Bring back the good old days -- come on, baby, read my lips:
I’d rather have an old fashioned armageddon than this robot apocalypse.

Some said earth would end in demons, others said in light,
or Mayans, or aliens, or global warming, or even Nostradamus (right!).
Then, when the Skynet went online, you can guess that I was real ticked off!
So I up and joined the resistance, to kick some robot Asimov!

I said, I don’t want the robots walkin’ up and down my street,
shooting lasers and clangin’ their metallic feet.
Bring back the good old days -- come on, baby, read my lips:
I’d rather have an old fashioned armageddon than this robot apocalypse.

But you know, maybe it’s not all that bad.
It’s just that this is the first end of the world I’ve ever had,
and these robots are makin’ a real big mess.
When it comes to the apocalypse, beggars can’t be choosers, I guess!

I said, I don’t want the robots walkin’ up and down my street,
shooting lasers and clangin’ their metallic feet.
Bring back the good old days -- come on, baby, read my lips:
I’d rather have an old fashioned armageddon than this
techno-, electro-, mechanic, automatic,
syncronized, globalized attack of guys with laser eyes,
and copper wire, cars on fire, engineering spreading fear, and
BEEP BOP BOOP BEEP, it’s a robot apocalypse!
